While on paper the specs on throw distance, lens and zoom ratio appear to be exactly the same, in reality the throw distance was not the same as my old HT1075 at all. I also added a transmitter/receiver instead of an HDMI cable. While I hate flat gray paint when I put the projector up it was like I'd discovered the holy grail. My first projector and “Wow” I am astonished by the picture quality! Colors are amazing. You have to know your wall/screen size, the intended placement of the projector (both height and distance from said screen), and the brightness of the projector based on the needs of your room. A couple things to make clear upfront: I'm not a videophile, and so I can't comment on things like picture quality, etc with anything more than my layman perceptions, which I will provide, and this is my first foray into projectors, which I spent a fair amount of time reading up on in preparation--and was, and still am, confused on much regarding the area--and wasn't sure what I was getting myself into.

For the cost and it capabilities it exceeded even my expectations. Out of the box this was a joy to watch, even when placed on the coffee table. I am very pleased with this purchase.
