OK says the boat should carry up to 425 lbs. In the front seat, your legs point upward, this is uncomfortable for her. This is my go-to kayak!
Have end over end looped it once in big surf :-) All in all a great boat and much better in the water than you'd think when you look at it on dry land. Although this kayak is a bit on the heavy side I can cartop it by myself and lug it to the water. His extra weight works out perfect since it’s designed for two people. I have had owned several Ocean kayaks for many years and use them in the ocean kayak surfing, fishing in the ocean, lakes, and rivers. It is not a dry ride in the ocean, your butt's in the water most of the time. We kayaked to a private beach. Seats are comfortable initially, after an hour or so, not so much, but fine for the price range, and they are easily adjustable. One adult in back with the two of them in the middle and front is a blast. The stability is amazing - really gives you confidence. Please make sure that you are posting in the form of a question. With two or more people, the center hatch is almost awash. It is a very stable boat. The kids love it, especially riding the waves on it. I have a 22" x 16" dry bag for day items. It works well for fishing, touring, and small to moderate surf. There are many slight imperfections and "waves" in the molding. When I have sold my others, they have sold in 1 hr. Disabling it will result in some disabled or missing features. This is a great family or begginer yak. I've fished tandem out of the kayak with my sons, but it is a bit cramped for 2 with my configuration. Also no interior access because no hatches are included. Glad I was home!!
Good entry kayak, but I found moving it around difficult due to the kayak being so wide.

But it's actually a lot better than I thought it would be. Overall, I figured these type of scuff marks will happen once I use the kayak a few times as they were only superficial. I've had it out in 8' surf paddling tandem and a few times in 7' surf as a solo paddler.

The space in the back of the boat is useless and the included straps are not very useful either. Either setup as a single, or two person this boat has performed excellently out in Boston harbor. I was able to get it moving pretty well solo and it wasn't bad with tracking. As to number 1, it's almost unusable. Not a great solo boat, but I knew that going in. Had a TON of fun on this boat, tracked well, maneuvered well and room to move around. The Malibu however is not the nimblest of the kayaks I have used; it can at times be a beast to turn in rougher ocean waters.
